Reusable Blossom Pads

Reusable Blossom Pads Creating Dignity. Empowering Women. Building Sustainable Futures. Since 2021, Sultana Fund's Reusable Blossom Pads (SAFE Project) has addressed period poverty and limited employment opportunities for women in Afghanistan. Handcrafted by Afghan women, Blossom Pads provide safe, affordable, washable menstrual products while creating meaningful income opportunities for women and their families. Our Impact • 28,000 reusable kits produced — approximately 84,000 individual pads • 14,000 women and girls directly reached • 40 Afghan women provided with employment and income opportunities • Approximately 98,000 indirect beneficiaries • Menstrual health and hygiene education provided alongside distributions • Reached underserved communities, including families in the Bamiyan Caves Blossom Pads are designed for long-term use, reducing both household costs and environmental waste. The project remains active, with the current phase aiming to produce an additional 10,000 kits, expand women's employment, and reach more underserved women and girls. With the continued support of the Blossom Hill Foundation, Blossom Pads is building a sustainable, women-led model that combines menstrual health, dignity, and economic empowerment.
